Set up Drape.

Three steps, then close the lid.

Set it up

  1. Open it once

Drape has no window and no Dock icon — it lives in the menu bar, under the laptop symbol.

  2. Grant Screen Recording

macOS will ask the first time you start closing the lid. Folding your desktop means reading your desktop, so this is required. Frames never leave your Mac and are never written to disk.

  3. Close the lid

The fold begins at 75° by default. Change that, and the blur, shadow and style, from Settings… in the menu bar.

If something looks wrong

Nothing happens when the lid closes. Drape needs a MacBook with a lid angle sensor, 2019 or later. Check the menu bar item — it reports its own status.

macOS says it can’t verify the developer. Right-click the app and choose Open, then confirm. This only happens on the very first launch.
